Lagoon 2011

It is the end of June and our kids are still in school. Lame. So being the fun parents we are, we thought it would be a fun surprise to have the kids ditch school  and head to Lagoon for the day! Dream com true right? Yea, you would think. Nope, Hallie had a fit. She wanted to go to school. She was going to miss fun stuff. Ok, what is wrong with her? I guess it is good that she is dedicated to school, but seriously. What a Debbie Downer for our fun. Guess we won't do it again.

This is us at the start of the day.

A little wet after the log ride.

Jace on one of the kid rides he actually liked. He went on several and yelled "bor-ing  bo-ring" through the whole ride. I guess he is a daredevil, so we took him to the big rides. You had to be 46  inches. He is 46 inches if you include is spikey hair.  He loved all the scary roller coasters and went on them over and over. Crazy boy!!

Here is Abbie loving the planes. She had fun on everything. She liked some of the big rides, but didn't like others.

Shane took this fun one of us on the sky ride with Hallie and Nat behind us.

And here we are drenched  after Rattle Snake Rapids. We all had a fun time- even Hallie. Shocking.

Hallie's 5th Grade History Fair

We learned more than we ever needed to know about Milton Hershey! Hallie did a great job and got 197 out of 200 points for the project. Great job Hallie!!

Herriman Fireworks

Loving the fun and snacks! The Peterson family joined in for the evening festivities.

Their kids fit right in. Parents visit and kids play. Fun for everyone!

The Tradition Continues. . . . .

Year after year, we meet with our good friends the Eskelson's and the Schut's and we live it up at the Herriman Days Parade. We love visiting with our fun friends, getting candy and soaking up some sun.  Our kids naturally congregate into four age groups. It is funny to watch. Here is group 3. Emily, Elsie, and Abbie.

Group one. The ever cool teens. Dallin, Mark, and Natalie.

Group 4 the little's:  Jace, Nate, and Sara. Usually Nate's twin Aaron is with them, but he got in trouble and had to sit with his dad this time. A bummer for the kids, but boy did they all behave that day so they didn't get stuck with their dad!!

Here are the tweens.  Hallie, Emily and Anna. Good times for everyone!

This was our favorite entry this year. A jeep club. If you can tell, one jeep is in the middle and then four jeeps surround it and drive up on to the tires of the middle jeep. It was pretty cool.

Headin' On Over to the Rodeo!

This year we decided to go to the Herriman Days  Rodeo. We went several years ago, but this was the first time I thought Jace would actually sit and enjoy it, so we went on Friday Family Night.

It was sooo cold for a June night. Luckily we had blankets and jackets.

Abbie says she never wants to go again because it was so cold. Other than the weather, we had a really fun time!

I like how our little Rodeo grounds has the mountains in the background.  There was a pretty good crowd and Jace wants to go back every time. He says next year he wants to try mutton bustin'. We shall see. . . .

Not doing so hot. . .

Ok,  I am not updating very well. Busy times. Right now I am waiting for a class to start at the University of Utah. Do you think my car with BYU licence plates will get keyed while I am here? I am getting my teaching certificate renewed so I can teach school again if I want. Do I want? I don't know! I am trying to decide what my future will hold. I feel like I am deciding what I want to be all over again. After a 13 year hiatus from work. Crazy. Maybe we can just win a lottery somewhere and I won't have to worry about it!! At least I am keeping my options open. Wish me luck!!
